Quick Translator for Firefox makes it easy for you to see translations among over fifty languages. Translations are made easy and can be prompted through a variety of commands, including a hotkey, a floating button displayed by the text that you select, a context menu option, and more. You can even input text manually and have it translated into the language of your choice. You can also choose how much text you want to be translated from a web page, which is a useful feature if, for example, you are reading in your second or third language and come across a word that you do not recognize. Each translation can be of anything from a single word up to a full page of text. The language of the page or input is detected automatically, so you do not have to figure out the base language prior to having something translated.
The extension runs more efficiently than many comparable ones because some other programs load JavaScript files on the pages that need to be translated. This extension does not do so. The translator works with applications from Firefox, SeaMonkey, and Thunderbird. The translations are based on Google Language API.
